The Great Commission: Jesus Is Lord!

I'm no Cecil B. DeMille, but I decided to present this study of the Great Commission by video rather than by text.

Thanks. Good exposition. Especially found the discussion of the disciple's doubt helpful.

Bart, Jesus wasn't all alone at the cross, was He? what about John? I thought he was near the cross when Jesus died because Jesus told him "behold, this is your mother" before Jesus died. And from then on, Mary was taken into John's house. John 19. selahV

SelahV,

I actually mentioned that in the part that I had to edit out to get under the 10 minute mark.

John was there, but Jesus still died on the cross alone. In other words, John did not stand up with Jesus and identify himself as a follower of Jesus who agreed with and supported him. Had he done so, John would have met the same fate, right?

Bart, don't really know what would have happened to John had he been more visible. Just always thought how much he must have loved Jesus for him to be near Him at the time of crucifixion and visible enough for Jesus to give him care of His mother. One thing is certain. Jesus was alone on that cross. No one else was hanging there with Him. And we cannot begin to imagine the loneliness He felt as the entire world's sin was place upon His shoulders. selahV
