A New Look

I'm monkeying around with the site. Doubtless, it will turn out uglier than it was before, but it will be mine!

  1. Pretty! Is that Mr. Barebones himself?

  2. Bart,

I do not care how the blog looks, as long as it is still easy on the eyes to read and most importantly that you continue the excellent postings. You rock!

  3. Yes, Wes, that is the ancient Praisegod Barebones.

  4. Of course, Wes, each time you load my site you can say, "Look, kids! Big Ben! Parliament!" (see the watermark under the title).

  9. Bart,

Actually, I thought the picture was of you. Sorry ;%(

In seriousness, the site is pleasant and easy on the eyes.

    With that, I am...

  10. Bart: I'm loving the new look. Especially the sidebar with news posts. Barebones looks like a Founders man. Maybe you could get someone to superimpose your photo over his so when you move the cursor over it, the face changes?

Just please keep the font a decent size. I've all but stopped reading some sites with fine-print posting. God tired of copying and pasting their posts so I could read them. I will still do that at Geoff Baggett's though. selahV
By the Way--ever talk to your wife about sharing some of what happened with her work during the Texas floods?

  11. Bart,

Like Peter, I thought it was a self-portrait. Alas, we can't all look that well preserved!

  12. I think I like the picture of Wes and his twin brother Joel O. better than this one of you and your twin brother.

  13. Bart-

As you remodel, if you are interested, below is a link that will help you remove the "navbar" at the top of the page.

  14. Dr. BB,

Don't worry, there's no way it could be uglier than your old site! :)

I'm sorry I couldn't be the first to say I thought the picture was of you. :)

My new look is all orange, so I'm certainly not going to criticize yours for being aquamarine.

    Love in Christ,

  16. SelahV,

I have forwarded the request to Tracy. She nodded in my direction while holding Sarah and getting a snack for Jim.

    She looked pretty busy.

But I hold out hope that I will be able to convince her someday to take the time. She's more about action than about tooting her own horn, and there's a little reluctance on her part.

  17. Micah,

Thanks for the info. The CSS there is pretty straightforward. The "next blog may be offensive" reason appeals to me, but I'm reluctant to cut Blogger out of a page that they are providing to me for free.

I did, however, change the COLOR of the navbar from blue when I was working on the site. It is back to blue. Looking around, I see that many of the things I first put in place in a "sandbox" blog for development did not make it over in the template copy. I expected some tweaks, and now I see some of what they need to be. I suspect that it will be several weeks before the site is really working right.

    Thanks for the advice.

  18. Master Grizzly Adams (aka Jeff Richard Young),

I chose my color quite deliberately. Knowing the sometimes-controversial nature of our conversations here at PGBB, I decided to use soothing colors.

  19. Debbie,

    Thanks for the encouragement.
