I just thought that all you bloggers out there would enjoy this. Somebody has concocted some cockamamie system for calculating a monetary value for your blog.
I'm guessing because it is basically brand new. The first post was January and it got basically no traffic until the Driscoll posts. All of the posts prior to Jan were moved from old blogs.
But it said my the old blog I had while a Presbyterian is worth $1,693.62. Who's buying? I doubt that blog got as much traffic in a year as my new one did last week. But it has been up since 2006.
I don't think you have to claim it unless you sell it. Then, it would be a capital gain.
ReplyDelete(Unless you had charged off depreciation on it, and then the depreciation recapture would be ordinary income).
As I understand it. Or misunderstand it. Whichever.
Mine is worth more than 200,000. Do you know of anyone interested in buying?
ReplyDeleteMy blog is worth $8,400. I could buy my youngest son a truck with that. Anyone interested in buying it?

Why not donate your blog to a nonprofit then deduct it.
