Huck's Army

Thank you, Mike Huckabee, for running hard unto the end. I committed to cast my vote for Mike Huckabee, confident that he would not win the Republican nomination. I offer the same commitment tonight to Senator John McCain with regard to the general election, and with precisely the same confidence (although with not nearly the same enthusiasm).

  1. I know this won't happen, but McCain should take Huck as VP. Who are some of the most leary people of McCain? Evangelicals. Taking Huck as VP would lock up a LOT of votes - probably guarantee a few southern states.

Huckabee was in my church during the Iowa Caucuses. What a guy!

  2. Dave,

I agree...that won't happen. But I'm working right now on Huckabee 2012 buttons.

  3. i also voted for huckabee knowing that he wouldnt win. and, dave, you are right. if huckabee, or someone like him, were picked to be the vp, then i'd be more enthusiastic about voting for mccain. right now, i'm with bart. i will reluctantly cast my vote with mccain.

  4. Bart,

My family voted for Huck yesterday hoping it would send a loud message to Sen. McCain.

  5. And I thank you Bart for not meddlin in our affairs on the Democratic side of the political aisle.

Particularly in my very very Republican county (McLennan), I fear that the high turnout for the Dems was due to former Bush supporters crossing over for Hillary.

Ultimately, I don't see how Hillary comes out on top at the end of the day. This long process just hurts our chances versus McCain and hurts folks further down the ticket who need all the fundraising help that they can get. And if Hillary were to persuade enough Superdelegates based on on "big state argument" then I fear McCain will win in November. Blacks and the younger crowd will feel alienated.
